This Too Shall Pass

This too shall pass

They say that this too shall pass,
The pain and the grief,
The long sleepless nights.

They say that this too shall pass,
That the birds will sing again,
That there will be sunshine,

They say that this too shall pass,
like the coldest winter it cannot forever stay,
like the darkest night, there will be dawn.

They say that this too shall pass,
and there will be a new world,
where there will be no more pain,

They say that this too shall pass,
and yet, I cling to it,
For it reminds me of you.
